Leica Elmarit-R 1:2.8 / 180mm on X-Pro-1
the lens and the body

I used Leica R optics in many years and appreciate their exemplary build quality and optical performance. The fact that this lens was build in 1981 makes it even more exciting. Since I have the Metabone Speedbooster adapter this lens gives me a real 180mm with an aperature of 2.0! Nice for a 180mm?

Conclusion so far:
After testing the lens only some month now I must say: I like this lens! The Elmarit R 180mm together with the Metabone Speedbooster gives a 180mm on the X-Pro1. The lens is sharp all over. Manual focus workes fine, but "peak focusing" is difficult, even with tripod: shaking around... There is vingnetting at f2,8 with the Speedbooster, but it's manageable in Lightroom!

I also used the X-Pro-1 for making a movie with this lens. See results down.
